On 3 February 2021 The Plough inn, Longparish was bought by the Parish Council as a community pub and hub, with the financial and practical support of many villagers through a not-for-profit group, Longparish Community Pub Ltd (LCPL).

The council borrowed £300,000 from central government for a term of 50 years, and lease payments from the tenant, LCPL, cover the loan cost, so there was no need to increase the parish precept.
