  • Longparish Tower has six bells which are rung occasionally for special occasions. Change ringing is fascinating and is free to learn: you do not have to be strong or musical to ring, nor do you have to be a churchgoer. Please contact the Tower Captain, Peter Hull if you’d like to know more.

  • Longparish Village Choir is a non-auditioning ‘community choir’ of about 25 local people who sing for fun. We enjoy singing a wide range of accessible songs from Motown to Mozart.

We are not an official Church choir but we do support all the major Church festivals as well as staging fun concerts, usually in aid of charities. We also occasionally sing for christenings, weddings and funerals and it is always a great privilege to be part of such important family events.

We welcome all singers and would love you to join us. Don’t worry if you can’t read music, all you need is enthusiasm and a willingness to attend rehearsals. We are especially keen, at the moment, to recruit tenors.

We rehearse on Thursday evenings from 7.30-9.30 in the River Room at The Plough. There is no subscription fee, just some modest music costs and a small charge for ‘refreshments’ if you want them. (Most of the choir seem to be ‘refreshed’ by a glass or two of wine but this is not compulsory!)

To find out more, please email Susie Urquhart or chat to any member of the choir you may know.

  • Longparish Countryside Club is open to children who live in the Hill & Valley area and who are interested in learning more about the countryside. Events are organised at various times: there is no charge, and details will be found on the Events page of this website.

Refreshments are provided. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

If you would like to know more or attend any of the sessions, please email countrysideclub28@gmail.com

    Or call Paul Knipe on 01264 720713 or 07941 756 259 or Laura Wearn on 01264 720066

  • Longparish Craft Club is a social group with a shared love of making things. We meet fortnightly on Tuesdays at Longparish Village Hall in either the main hall or in the meeting room to the rear of the hall. The club runs from 7.30pm until 9.30pm and entry costs £2 per person which includes tea and coffee.

We would like to welcome anyone with an interest in sewing, knitting, crochet, embroidery, dressmaking, jewellery making, scrapbooking, patchwork, quilting, crosstitch, cardmaking or any other handicraft.

You can be a complete beginner or an experienced crafter.

It’s a great opportunity to meet others with similar interests, see what everyone else is making and have a chat.

We cannot promise that we have experts in all fields but if you're struggling with a project or new skill, there is a good chance that one of us will be able to offer help and advice.
