The first of three defibrillators is now installed outside the village hall and a second is currently held behind the bar at The Cricketers. This will be moved outside when we have listed building consent. A third is planned for Forton.

The cabinet is not locked, so that in the event of an emergency the defibrillator is easily accessible, but it is alarmed - and if triggered by opening the cabinet door, it's very loud!

The defibrillator is designed to be used without any training, and will only deliver a shock if it is medically needed.

Training on performing CPR and familiarisation with how/when to use the defibrillator will be available soon in the village hall.

In the meantime if you want more information, this video from the manufacturer demonstrates how the AED model we have is used in an emergency.

Thank you to everyone who has been involved in the fund-raising, to Martin Hanchant for the installation; to the village hall committee and to Julie and Kevin May at The Cricketers.
